An Ode To My Sister
By: Kristian Barboza
I Love you sister,
Even though you were a little sinister,
You Protected me,
Stood up for me when people bullied me
And when mother wasn't there,
You became the mama bear,
You were there when I needed help,
And I can't believe I wasn't appreciating.
I rebelled but you kept pushing, you tried,
Im sorry, i'll admit life was easier with you beside me,
and you cared for me,
Helped every time I had fallen.
I got lost, but you led me in the right direction,
Every where I went I expected perfection,
You helped me expect the unexpected
Every lesson you gave me felt like an injection, it would hurt
Sometimes i thought of flirting with death,
On this trip I would run out of breath
So I wrote this poem in your dedication.
